Chipboard Project selected for Trade City by Gymnasium

Gymnasium has invited Chipboard Project to make Tableware, an eating area designed to provide a temporary platform for impromptu encounter and exchange between visitors to TradeCity. The group have been informed by their experiences of chaotic marketplace dining and a street food aesthetic.

Gymnasium is hosting a private sitting at the table for a group of Manchester-based practitioners who were in some way influential in the foundation of the initiative. Tableware will also be available for use by members of the public visiting Trade City throughout the exhibition duration and can be booked for private use by writing to: contact@gymnasium-online.org

Chipboard Project is a collective of London-based artists formed in 2008. Previous work by the group has revolved around an investigation into the processes of making, bricolage and the use of lo-fi building materials. The work is structural and transportable; aiming to act as a rupture of the space in which it appears, altering perception and experience within it.
